Technical problem: ship based dialogue

Broken ship based dialogue

Hello

Apologies if this has already been asked and answered. I had a search and couldn't find a similar issue. Just wondering if anyone has some advice for me - I've recently got the game on Steam and am excited to play. I'm playing on windows 10, and have more than the minimum specs for the game.

Unfortunatly, the game is not really working for me - I can load up and play fleet battles fine, but in single player when I get to the moon or the training outpost to talk with a person the game lags like nothing else making play impossible. It usually then crashes.

I've tried: uninstalling and reinstalling, clean boot, opening the game as administrator, reducing all graphics options to minimum, removing second monitor etc.

The game also take ages to load, but I can live with that...

Apologies if I missed it - but has anyone spotted this issue or had ideas for a fix? Very keen to play the game! I remeber the excitement of booting up StarCon 2 for the first time (and tracking down the damned stars on the star map!).

Any ideas?

Thanks very much
