Released Version does not Work at all with Insider Preview

I am running 64 bit Windows 10 Insider Preview version 2004 build 20175.1000 and the beta .6 worked perfectly.  Version 1.0 has no transparency, gradients, patterns or any changes to the windows.  The backgrounds and colors are the only things that work  and they are already part of Windows.  I understand that this is basically a beta of the new windows,  but it is unnerving that the version .6 beta of Curtains worked, but the released version does not.

It sounds like the installation didn't go correctly.

I imagine either the service is not installed or is set to not run for some reason. (some AV apps have an annoying ability to stop installations of apps working right sometimes)

You need to uninstall, reboot and then install again and hopefully all will be well.

Obviously officially we do not support insider builds but I just checked on 10.0.20175.1000 and all is well which is as I would have expected.

I will give re-installation a try again, but initially (when you first released 1.0), I removed it and re-installed .6.  I then installed 1.01 yesterday, thinking there would be a difference.

What is the exact named of the service needed, can it be re-enabled in task manager?

Just to confirm Neil finding. I see no issue on my Windows 10 2004 Build 20180.1000

The exe is CurtainsSrv64.exe but it will be listed in Services as Stardock Curtains.

Two processes should be running always with curtains, these are CurtainsSrv64.exe and Curtains64.exe.

Thanks Neil, an overnight - reboot took care of it. The restarts of Windows I did must not have completely cycled the PC. Everything is back.  Next time I’ll just shut down and leave it for a while.
