Skype VS WinFX

Hey guys, I can't get WindowFX to animate the latest version of Skype.  It worked fine until Skype updated on me.

WindowFX V. 6.05

Skype version 8.61.0.100
Application version 15.61.100.0

Mine says I'm up to date.  Are you using the app version, or desktop version?

That one was the Skype Desktop version.

I am sorry. The Desktop version, in my experience, has NEVER worked with WinFX.  Odd.

Ok, I uninstalled Skype app. Installed Skype Desktop. No change. Still no wobbly windows or any animations.

Uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled WinFX. No change.  Back to Skype app, still no change.

Ok, unloaded windowblinds, loaded Curtains. Skype now has animations.  So it's a windowblinds/WinFX issue.

Loaded windowblinds, back to no animations for Skype.

Uninstalled windowblinds, rebooted, ran CCleaner, rebooted, reinstalled windowblinds. Still not working.

Both the Skype desktop and skype app running without issue on my system. And both have the wobbly effect from WindowFX when moving it. Not really sure why it is not working in your system. But, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Note : I did exclude Skype from Windowblinds for some reason I don't remember. Maybe just because it don't really skin well.

Now THAT is odd. Skins great here.

As for my system, it is an issue on multiple rigs here. I have about 8.

I may have to give up WinFX or WindowBlinds.  I can't stand the thought of giving up either one. But I hate bugs.

WinFX and Curtains work well together.

No support, yet yall have the time to deal with a guy too lazy to look up skins on his own.   Sheesh.

This should have been done a week ago.  Not that it would have mattered.

Basj forwarded it over on the 24th.

It certainly is an odd one as WB shouldn't stop WFX animating anything.  The only exception are WB blurred Start menus which will not animate with WFX and Start10 due to the blur.

We go to great lengths to make our software compatible with each other.

The one thing not asked was if the same issue happened if you excluded it from WB.  This would narrow down the issue.

It is a known thing that you will not get some animations with universal apps, I assume your Skype hasn't been 'upgraded' (and I use that term loosely) to a universal version.

I will check, but that would still be unacceptable.

Both the Skype app, which animated fine a week ago, and the Desktop version of Skype exhibit the same lack of animation.

If I run Curtains rather than WindowBlinds, animations happen.   When I say animations, I am speaking of wobbly windows. Movement animations.

No, I didn't miss it. But excluding Skype isn't acceptable. Especially since it worked before.

I will repeat, this issue happens on multiple machines, with widely varying setups.  It did just begin recently, so may have to do with a Skype update, or maybe even Windows 10 2004.  I dunno.

Have you been able to test with it excluded yet?

Good to know... We have noted some issues as well...

Without Skin:

With WB skin applied, Skype does not wobble, Edge has issues as well:

So we will look at it. Ty for the report:
