Send file to desktop in all programs doesn't work on Windows 10 2004 B19041.264

Hi,

I just reinstall new windows 10 2004 B19041.264 and found out that the "send file to desktop" in all programs is missing. It happens only if the file is in folder but if the file isn't in the folder, the option to send to desktop shows up as usual.

This is windows or Start10 problem? Please fix it!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Working for me with v2004.

Try reinstalling start 10 ? Rebooting ?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here: https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#reinstalling. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Hi Basj,

I tried as you said "Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it." but it still doesn't work. Note that I tried it with trial version but it is supposed to work as paid version?

I just downloaded trial version yesterday and verified thru email. Thanks.

From what I know trial and full version is the same, just trial have limited time. Please try the cleanboot steps as mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/486022/start10-support-faq#cleanboot to see if there is any conflicting application with Start10

And, please check your system, try this :

-For Win10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed. Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. You're replying to very old thread. Please start your own new thread. Also need more details on your system.

  1. Windows 11 full version and OS Build number. Use Winver.exe.
  2. Start10/Start11 full version number.
  3. Screenshots of what the issue would help us understand your issue faster and better.

Thank you.
