Changelog for Beta 6

  • Compatibility with GroupyGroupy Beta 1.36 required
  • Fixed issue that could have had Windows Explorer crashing upon reboot with a Curtains Style applied
  • Multiple improvements to editing UI
  • Fixes an issue with picking a custom color on the colors page not using the secondary or third color as a default when on those pages
  • Fixes the new Glyph.RestoreButton and Glyph.MinButton so they work correctly with normal apps
  • Fixed issue with text alignment when using a Progressive Web App and a style that does not define titlebar sections
  • Fixed an issue with Progressive Web apps where the back button would not respond to touch input reliably.
  • The editor is now aware of frame counts in groupy parts and new groupy parts in advanced
  • New buttons tab in the editor. This intentionally does not include the more obscure parts.

Known issues:

For any issues that are reported, and that can be reproduced \ verified, they will be listed as 'known issues' and itemized here.

  • If you also have Windowblinds installed, and when a Curtains skin is applied, the Start10 start button control by Windowblinds is not released. You can't go into Start10 and change the start button - one needs to go into Windowblinds and un-tick "Always use the OS start button rather than the style

I definitely like the new Buttons tab; makes it more obvious what applies to which button, and the descriptions are good, except for the one for background buttons that says "There are sections for close, normal, and left buttons."  Better wording might be "Changing these settings will apply to all buttons, except Close and Back which have their own settings," or something like that (assuming I'm understanding it right).  Are there any buttons other than Back that are on the left?

Some buglets: the image layer preview only updates when you mouse over it, you can't use the scrollwheel to scroll up through the section headings (e.g. spin down to Small Close Button and you can't spin back up) and Inactive button backgrounds are only getting applied to UWP windows.

please add an option to ignore the wallpaper that is packaged with the styles.

I prefer apps not mess with my wallpaper.

Also, the start button does not function until you close the interface.

There already is such an option.  It is on the settings page at the bottom.

Hi all

I was wondering if there is a way to change styles from a running command or whatever to some shortcuts desktop so we can change the style on the fly instead of having to open the app and select from there ?

I also have a question about curtains styles sections for buttons when using other custom styles.

I could set curtains to only apply shadows and allow skin of UWP and at the same time keep my current custom theme ( not using curtains but custom theme in resources folder of windows ) for titlebars and buttons. It works for every apps but not fully for UWP ( tile frame correctly skinned  but not for buttons of my current custom theme , UWP keep displaying native windows 10 buttons)

Where can I set and which section ( I've searched in vain )  in config curtains style, to let UWP skin the same way as classic apps & explorer for buttons with my extra curtain theme ?

If you allow Curtains to apply to the titlebar and do not define titlebar sections other than the button sections you should be fine.  If a section does not exist things revert to how they are without Curtains which with UWP apps would be the standard button looks.

You could of course define the style entirely with curtains which would make your life easier.

There is not currently.  What is your use case exactly here with that?

oh just to switch faster between modes .

I will give a try with your advices, but I had some pbs with some custom buttons as previous post of member about moving or positioning glyphs buttons , not very at ease yet with , I really like there is some offset settings to get glyphs close if needed for example and avoid some gaps I noticed

Anyone else have found that "close glyph " doesn't scale and align correctly with UWP ? ( the glyph size is reduced when UWP running )

Otherwise it works fine with all other apps.

Do you have an example style as it should size the same as min and max in UWP apps.

Thanks for reply , I somehow manage to make it work ( using another config file )

On another pb , is there a way in beta 6 to reduce space between buttons or maybe in future builds  ? I tried to expanse size of image but no results

I think button backgrounds are not working correctly.

Here ist a simple button background test theme, that uses the same image for [Button.Background], [Button.InactiveBackground], [Button.CloseBackground] and [Button.InactiveCloseBackground]. On inactive windows, no button background is applied.

Thanks for the report.

There is indeed a loading issue on the inactive background sections currently due to a misnaming issue.  We shall address this for the next build.

I noticed an issue with unreadable text when using Groupy in combine mode with the Splash Green theme. Only on the selected tab on an inactive window. See screenshot below. Forcing text colour does not change these font colours.

Versions--

Groupy: 1.36 beta

Curtains: Beta 6

Windows ver 2004

Also, can you allow it to remember whether Light/Dark mode is selected when you change a theme.

Thanks

Thanks for reporting this, we can reproduce it and it will need an update to groupy rather than curtains.
