Known issues:

For any issues that are reported, and that can be reproduced \ verified, they will be listed as 'known issues' and itemized here.

  • While Curtains mentions Groupy - and has Groupy sections for styles - it will not apply to Groupy 1.32 .  A future update to Groupy will add support
  • If you also have Windowblinds installed, and when a Curtains skin is applied, the Start10 start button control by Windowblinds is not released. You can't go into Start10 and change the start button - one needs to go into Windowblinds and un-tick "Always use the OS start button rather than the style

No they should get the style ones if the style has custom ones.

Which style and app are you using?

Also did you restart the app and do you have anything else running which might interfere with curtains?

Hi Neil

Here is the custom style I'm using:

https://www.deviantart.com/devillnside/art/Strata-X-821573

And what I get when forcing curtains options for UWP

Buttons are not skins like theme applied but maybe it concerns only themes made, considering I'm not using Stardock themes nor WindowsBlinds ?

Caption and borders work fine but not buttons it seems

If you are not using a curtains style then naturally it would not apply as you are not using the product.

Yes I understand , so if I manage to make under curtains my customs buttons it should be working I guess.

  • Added non-dpi specific versions of close, max, min, restore, help

Great idea, but what's the correct size of these glyphs to be resized correct? Beta 5 mentions "All DPI - make 400%", but suggests no width and height.

:rolleyes:

It looks like the Glyph.MinButton and Glyph.RestoreButton images aren't being applied.  You can test by copying the XP Luna theme for example, then editing the .CURTAINSTYLE file, replacing the Glyph.* blocks with:

[Glyph.CloseButton]
Image=glyph-close.png
[Glyph.MaxButton]
Image=glyph-max.png
[Glyph.MinButton]
Image=glyph-min.png
[Glyph.RestoreButton]
Image=glyph-max.png

and reloading.  Regular windows will look like this: and maximized ones will look like this:

[edit] Interesting.  UWP apps (Settings, etc.) get styled correctly.  It's only normal programs that lose the buttons.

Hi

I'm very satisfied with the lastest beta 5 .

I just need some help about getting rid of the native RED square ( background of CLOSE button )

Trying Persona style I 've searched everywhere in sub folder , can't seem to find where to change the background neither in Persona (Modified).CURTAINSTYLE file nor with png files .

It ONLY occurs with Universal Apps

I'm pretty sure I'm missing something easy to achieve that , otherwise this app is awesome

Thanks for help !

You need to define a background for the close button and make it a transparent image.  Defining Button.CloseBackground and Button.InactiveCloseBackground would do the trick for those.  There are also Button.Background and Button.InactiveBackground which would apply to the other buttons.

In my case (explorer.exe and UWP apps) regular AND maximized looks the same:

But it should look like that:

That's just the XP Luna style; the author used the same image for both "MaxButton" and "RestoreButton".

I was wondering if there is or will be a user manual to easily figure how to mess / edit with styles config file ?

Understanding sections and values ( example : I saw somewhere values like " Right / Left/ Top/ bottom " are there refering to margins / offsets or dimensions ?

Those are numbers that affect image resizing.  The numbers represent how many pixels are fixed at each margin.  The remainder of the image gets scaled to fit whatever rectangle is being filled.  Take a look at the WarpOS style, for example.  The Window Title Bar has margins that preserve the grey border, letting the blue center part fill the rest of the titlebar.  It's easiest to edit these values in the Painting Margins dialog box of whatever image you're looking at.  You can use the resizing handles on the image preview to see what happens when the size changes.  Taskbar images also have a "Use tile instead of stretch" option, which lets you specify that the interior is to be repeated instead of resized.  Useful if you want a repeating pattern (tartan, etc).  I don't know why there isn't a matching option for the Window Title Bar images.

I think documentation will come after the beta period is finished.  They're still adding features, and options may disappear or change behaviour.  Now, let's have someone else explain what "Replace default frames" on the Windows tab and "Image has two frames" on the Taskbar tab do :)

Replace default frames - Uses the defined image instead of the default frames.  Otherwise, the defined image is used on top of the default frame.  The difference is apparent when using images with transparency in them (including rounded corners).

Image has two frames - Top frame of the image is for a taskbar at the bottom of the screen, bottom frame of the image is for a taskbar at the top of the screen.

Thanks!  I can see where having separate top/bottom or left/right taskbar images would be useful, if you wanted the appearance of something "attached" to the appropriate edge of the screen.

It looks like when you are on the main Styles selection page and click the [Colors] button, it always loads whatever your current accent color is into the picker, even if you selected the 2nd/3rd style color and have a different color chip selected.  It should probably load whatever the 'current' selected color is.  The color pickers in the Edit Styles -> Colors tab do the right thing (loading whatever color is visible in the "Change Color" button).

Thanks for the report.  This is addressed for Beta 6.

We are planning on extending the editing UI for this and will specify an exact size then, but as things get sized down I would say 100x100 is probably large enough for each frame.

I can't find where to edit text color for captions of classic windows ? Is there a setting like for UWP ?

Those colours options should apply for non UWP apps too like notepad, explorer etc.

Thanks , I found what was causing this , all is fixed .

Btw , in text section is it possible in new betas to add a " Text X Offset " as for Y ?
