Please make some use of class0 planets

Each time I see a class0 planet I think they are absolutely for nothing except to clutter the map with an unnecessary object. why not making them a little bit more useful? I mean we have asteroid fields which give some production after investing money. Why not making similar for class0 planets? So they can serve the empire?

I could imagine for allowing mining installations or research bases or prison planets or whatever comes in mind.

Opportunity! Sometimes an event will convert many zero class planets into class 10's another event will convert many of them into class 20s! Plus zero class planets make Kiln of Worlds handy. Also, one wicked trick is to use the Kiln on a dead world in an foreign/enemy system, colonize it and use the 1000 influence relic/artifact.

Also, shipyard missions send ships to class 0 planets.

Maybe we should be able to create outposts? Could be limited to 0 planets with resources nearby (to avoid having them at every 0 planet after a while)

They could act like starbases, with some extra funtion to make them worthwile. Just an idea :)

Instead of another complicated starbase system I would rather see a simple mechanic as the asteroid belts. Invest x  Gold and you get y revenue after z turns depending on the distance to the next planet.

Not all class0 worlds could be usable in the beginning, though. Maybe gas giants do not or only if you have a trait or a certain tech. (or whatever) The revenue and type of base you put on the 0-planet could be bound to tech research.

Such a simple system should be not that a problem provided there is the dev will to do it.
