[SOLVED] - Game is stuck while loading computer player

Continue playing after Galactic Ascension

Hello,

I decided to create a new game because I was confident that I could manage a higher difficulty. B)  

In my new game I pressed Continue Playing after I receive the Galactic Ascension Status. Immediately after the End Window I receive the message that the Xrakia and the Altarian Resistance are destroyed. I annihilated the Xrakia and another computer player destroyed the Altarian Resistance. When I press Next step the game is stuck at the Iconian Refuge player and stops loading the rest of the computer players. So it doesn't crash. It just stops proceeding with the loading of the next events. I'm not sure if that's because the Continue Playing or that two computer players are destroyed at the same time.

How to reproduce:

  • Turn 265: Do some stuff in space
  • Turn 266: Galactic Ascension Status
  • Next turn: Continue playing
  • Turn 267: Altarian Resistance and Xrakia are both destroyed
  • Next turn: The game is stuck and keeps 'loading' the Iconian Refuge player

Addition information:

  • Added a save game as external link
  • Tried game versions 3.96 and opt-in 4.0
  • No mods

The 4.0 beta has been updated with a fix for this. Please give it a try and tell us if it works.

I can confirm that the new v4.0 build solves the issue. But I had to save the game first after the Galactic Ascension and load it again to solve the issue.

What I also noticed:

  • Save games are loading longer
  • 20% performance gain per turn on my computer!
