BUG: Rho Trireme III surface objects flicker

Hi Stardock staff,

Was exploring Rho Trireme as you do, and discovered this planet (which has 64 critters) has all surface objects flickering while you're exploring it.  I think they may be clipping the surface of the planet itself as I saw some of the critters occasionally disappear.

I'm encountering the problem on Delta Trireme B II

These are the only two so far

Same thing again on Eta Llovern IV...  I think they're all Green worlds doing it?

And Gamma Llovern I, which is a Hydrocarbon world.  The textures also seem to be flickering on and off.

Starting up the game again for the first time in over a year to play through the whole Earth Rising content, I went to Eorthus and saw the problem described above. In addition to the flickering I saw shadows of critters but no critters, and the crashed Scryve ship looked like a shadow with no ship.

Edit: I exited the game, did a verify files in Steam, and got one file reacquired. Loaded the same post-main game save I had before, flew to Eorthus Prime and landed. Paying more attention this time, I noticed that as my lander got closer to the planet I was able to see trees and other surface features up until the point I landed, at which time they disappeared as if they'd sunk into the surface.

Edit 2: I was running on a fairly recent video driver, but I installed the latest GeForce 442.59 driver dated 3/10/2020. Got the same problem.

Can you both please post your specs and what API/settings you were using?

Edit: Sorry for the long post, I tried to use spoiler tags but they seem not to have worked.

@Publius do you have a save game where this is happening for you? If so please upload it here (dropbox or gdrive is fine).

I hope this Dropbox link works: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v9hgylltiudjiqr/FlickeringPlanetBug.7z?dl=0

What I did to recreate this problem from this save was:

1. Talk to the star base right next to me to learn about something it "smelled" on Eorthus.

2. Use the star base to travel to the starbase just north of the Eorthus system.

3. Travel to Eorthus.

4. Land on the planet.

Hi, sorry for the slow reply.

Originally I was on Meh display settings (and the problem was much worse), but I noticed it still happened when I changed to Great.

I was on a GTX 1050 but upgraded to an RTX 2060 6GB a couple of days ago and the problem still occurs at both 1920x1080 and 2560x1440.  I'm running an i5-8400 with 16gb RAM.  Windows 10 x64.

Thanks guys.

@davidpartay can you also include a save game?

Just went back to Rho Trireme III and saved in that location.  The problem isn't nearly as bad as it was on Meh settings and I think one or two of the other affected planets were worse.  Mostly what I'm seeing now is textures flickering and shadows occasionally disappearing

Thanks for the save file david.
