I haven't tried the calendar, but double-click the town on the weather object. That displays a dialog box in which you can enter your own zipcode

i tried that, but no window comes up when i click on that

also, is desktop 1.96 the newest version? becuase that is as far as it will update from component manager. and i am wondering if that is my problem. is the a newer version, and if so, how can i get it

Component Manager is being phased out. You need Stardock Central which has the latest version.

BTW: If this helps, most of the screenshots that show a calendar it is not a DesktopX object but a seperate program called "Rainlendar", you can easily search for this on the net.

I assume since you ask about paying for the update that you do not have Object Desktop, since with OD, the update is "free". If you own just DesktopX then upgrades prices I believe vary depending upon when you purchased it.

Also there is in fact a DX2 calender object. It is not, however, tied into any kind of scheduling program, etc. That isn't to say it can't be done of course, just the object is an example. The Rainlender, as previously mentioned can tie into Outlook.

One other thing, all the newer objects will specify in the listings description of they require DX2, which I believe is 1.98 and above.
