We have important news about the promotions for Offworld Trading Company and Dead Man’s Draw that were being run here.

Due to high demand we have had to take the promotion down for now. We hope to be able to resume the promotion soon, but we do not currently have an exact date for when that happen.

FAQ

Q: I got my link but no key. Where is my key?
A: Unfortunately, we currently have no keys left, even if you managed to get your link in time.

Q: My old Stardock account does not seem to be working.
A: Please see our Activation and Account Support FAQ.

Q: When will you be giving out keys again?
A: We are working on returning the promotion but have no date for that yet.

Q: When the promotion is back will it be the same link?
A: Most likely, though we may also make some changes to help deal with higher volume of traffic.

So, what about all the people that GOT the link but DON'T got the key? You don't care about them at all? They won't get the key at first when you start new promotion?

I got my confirmation e-mail at febr. 3. 2:41 am but the "Validate and Get Key" link never worked.

First it said an unknown error happened and try again later. Then it's just error 403.

You should have stopped the event the moment the keys were gone.
This behavior is not cool!

We are aware of issues with the website and will be investigating on Monday. Likely cause is just too many people overwhelming the service. Yes, we were contacted about "bots" but no evidence was given.

Depending on what is found we may need to take the promotion down at least temporarily. The promotion itself was never intended for this kind of traffic though it has no availability limit. I will post again here when I know more.

Edit: We are now investigating.

So I guess there was a limit? Or are you not out of keys? I'm confused and after some back and forth with the Stardock Support Manager, he had no answers for me and directed me back here.

Yes, those who went through the process and have been checking the validation link repeatedly to see if the page is working again should be on the top of the list for when the offer returns (which I have my doubts will ever happen).  Speaking of the validation link, the page it leads to says nothing about this offer being shut down, it just says to try again later.  Why would you do that when you know you're not going to follow through?  The only reason I know the offer is dead is because I happened to see the title of this thread in the "active discussions" area in the corner so I clicked on it.  I understand this was an "oops" and maybe a bit of a costly one, but at least be up front about it.

Yes, the validate link is back to this:
Why don't you just say it's over?
Also writing an e-mail to [email protected] is pointless since all I get is an auto response saying they'll essentially ignore my e-mail.

You know what you should do?
Simply open the game up at steam for a few days so anyone can claim a free copy who owns certain games from you.
This way you don't need costly server upgrade. Your reputation gets restored and we get what you promised. Everybody happy!
(and don't forget to include the trading cards!)

OK I checked the link for Offworld Trading Company again and it gave gave me the multiplayer client key. I thought it would've been the single player part to be honest...

Dead Man's Hand link has reverted to

And I already have the same experience as Thunderdome2020. I emailed [email protected] twice and just got the same useless auto response telling me the issue will be ignored.

Same here, I get email 1am at night, later I go to work so after I back it was over :/

 

But at least they're planning to fix this somehow, hopefully soon:)
