Blaming browser updates and microsoft? Its been 8 months and alot of issues on browsers and windows frames. If you lack the programmers to keep up with the updates then close this shit down and stop selling it. It should take no longer then a month to do an update. I am a programmer and if it took me over a month to update customers applications I wouldnt have those customers. How about before you sell this you warn people about the lengthy updates? And you go around deleting posts where people call you out on it. Just pull the plug on it and shut everything down and stop ripping people off.

Are you able to provide more details on any issues you are experiencing?

I don't see any bug reports from yourself, just a post on another two year old thread today complaining about Windows updates and WB?

By default we do not theme Firefox or Chrome based browsers (they run as default look instead).  I am afraid the developers of those products chose to implement their own fake titlebars often to save a tiny amount of power - notice how inactive chrome has the wrong titlebar colour...  This makes them incompatible with WB and worse they have an irritating habit of changing things often as they reinvent the wheel yet again which is why they now default to excluded.

If you have an issue with the out of the box settings of WB please do let us know.  I think the fact that WB is on 10.84 rather suggests we do in fact provide updates to WB when needed.

That said, you might be better served with Stardock Curtains which can theme those browsers (as it works in a different but more limited manner).

Can you make sure to file a bug using the MS feedback tool too please.

That certainly looks to be a bug in the OS.

Thanks for the reply Neil!

I did some research and, apparently, in that Insider Build, they are possibly experimenting with a UI overhaul, codenamed 'Sun Valley' or 'Cobalt', whatever the heck those are!

Anyway, I'm not gonna install the Feedback Hub just to rant about issues MS refuses to address anyway!

I went back to the previous Build, all good, I'll just stay on a stable release! (Did I say stable? Haha, that's funny!!!) B)

Well, I blew it!!!

The stupid '2 in a row' Builds came down, (21277 and 21279), now I can't get back to 21255!!! X-(  X-(  X-(

I think the glitch has something to do with their frickin Fluent Design crap!

If I unload Windows Blinds, I can see a slightly off color shadow on window frames, as per previous screenshot.

I think my only option now is a clean install but I don't really want to!

If you guys have any ideas, I sure would appreciate it!

BTW, if any of you use QTTabBar, don't install anything higher than version 1038, it screws up Explorer even worse!

I recently installed a style (Brass Bars by don5318) and when I wanted to go back to the default Windows 10 style it's been giving me problems. Now when I start my PC it seems that explorer.exe or something keeps crashing.

I can't use my taskbar anymore and every time I click it it seems to try and restart it, but it immediately bugs out again. My wireless mouse also lags when this is happening and the system as a whole becomes very unresponsive.

At some point it seems to successfully restart explorer.exe (i assume) and I can use the system again and it seems mostly fine then, but there are lingering colors from the Brass Bars style in some windows. This definitely seems to be due to WindowBlinds... Maybe it needs an update?

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please try purge and reinstall steps as mentioned here:  https://forums.stardock.com/486023/windowblinds-support-faq#reinstalling Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purged. Reinstall, and Reboot again after the installation. Retest it. Report back here.

Thank you for the reply. I followed the steps suggested carefully, but sadly it doesn't seem to have done anything to fix the problem.

I had 2 errors during the purging process, but not sure if they make any difference.

Taskbar still hangs on system start and system becomes unresponsive until it manages to successfully restart itself.

Also it keeps resetting my 'Dark' setting (Choose your default app mode) under Windows' 'Colors' to Light.

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://www.windowscentral.com/how-use-dism-command-line-utility-repair-windows-10-image

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

It didn't seem to help, *but* I discovered that when I disconnect the keyboard I recently bought I no longer have the issue.

So it seems to be related to this keyboard, the Razer Huntsman Mini and *not* WindowsBlinds. Although there were some windows that were still showing the color from the style before, but I think the purge helped fix that.

Either way the most severe problem seems to be this Razer keyboard. I read online other people have the same issue, at least paired with Ryzen CPUs.

I will return the keyboard and hopefully that is the end of it.

Thank you for your help!
