Cannot get tiles to work when groupy is running

Hello. I have been running Fences and Groupy for some time. Today I installed Tiles. Tiles overwrites the Fences clusters even when Tiles is set to be transparent and in the background.  So I moved the now hidden fences.  Not ideal.

The real problem: I cannot get any windows to stick in Tiles. Putting the cursor on the titlebar, left mouse + shift only moved the window, but the icon for it did not get into Tiles.  I also tried ALT and Ctrl instead of shift.  I could not get it to function as shown in the video.

Any suggestions?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more.

1) Windows version. Please use Winver.exe for full version numbers

2) Tiles version.

Thanks

Tiles version - downloaded it today, so it is the latest build, dated 7/17/2015.

Please try the purge and reinstall steps mentioned here : https://forums.stardock.com/485902/tiles-support-faq#reinstalling

Just make sure to re-download the latest version from your account. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall it.. and Reboot after the reinstall. Test and report back.

Thank you,

Purge doesn't work on Tiles V2

Why do you say the Purge doesn't work .

What version of Windows are you running ( full number version )

and Tiles version in your account ?

Because i've got a bunch of RegSv432 windows saying "The module C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\Tiles\Tiles.dll" failed to load.  Make sure the binary is stored at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files.  The specified module could not be found".   It is not in this directory, and it was installed with default options (i never specified where i wanted to install it).  The stardock folder is in Program Files (x86), not in Program FIles.  But i guess it didn't meant that it failed to uninstall... i've let it go and it removed the panel.

I'm using Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19042.746] (Windows 10 Pro).

I haven't tried without Groupy.  But WIndows doesn't let met drag a window if i was holding SHIFT at the beginning.

It's hard to say which Tiles version i have.  All files in the folder seems to be from 2014 to 2017.  If i right-click on dll's and check at Details tab, it show version 1.0.0.1.  I assumed that it was version 2.0 Beta since the email sent from Stardock says:

JUST FOR YOU: Try the new Tiles 2.0 beta before anyone else!

I've clicked the Download link in the email, but there's a part i've read too quickly.  To download the beta version, you got to click on the gear, show settings, then  check "Show Beta Downloads".

I'll reboot and reinstall  to see if it make any difference.

Once you have installed it if it is Tiles V2. You can right click on Tiles bar and click "About Stardock Tiles" it should display something like below.
