Free camera crash in Demigod 1.30.165

Hello Stardock team.

I'm trying to play Demigod again after a long time, but whenever I try using free camera in-game (via spacebar or middle mouse button), my game consistently crashes. To my knowledge, I changed nothing since last time it worked, apart from updating Windows. Reinstalling via the downloadable installer from the Stardock website changed nothing. I'm running Windows 10.0.18362. Any ideas on how to solve this? I have not tried installing via Steam yet, since I prefer using the standalone launcher (but would try that if there's no other solution).

Greetings, Schwiegerknecht

Hi there,

facing the same problem on Windows 10.0.18363.535 and Demigod version 1.30.0217.

Do you use any Mods?

Best,

Stru

I also have this problem. Clean install, no mods. The instant I push the middle mouse button, game crashes.

Have you tried comparability mode or disabling fullscreen optimization?

Hi there,

thanks for your advise.

Unfortunately neither the compatibility mode (Windows 7) nor disabling of the "fullscreen optimization" helped :(

I tried the following options:

1. Disabled "fullscreen optimization"

  • Right Click on the Executable File (.exe) and Select Properties
  • Select the Compatibility Tab
  • Under Settings – Select “Disable Fullscreen Optimizations
  • Click Apply
    > Game crashes when click on the middle mouse button

2. Disabled "fullscreen optimization" and used Windows 7 Compatibility mode

> Game crashes when click on the middle mouse button

3. Enabled "fullscreen optimization" back and used Windows 7 Compatibility mode

> Game crashes when click on the middle mouse button

Yeah probably Windows 10 Releases from end of 2019 are to new for this good old game :)

Best,

Thanks for the answers. Sorry for not responding for a while...
I finally also tried those things to no avail. Tried with mods and without (though it worked with mods earlier). I have circumvented the problem by using the Steam version in the meantime, where everything works as it should... with the usual amount of bugs ;)
But yeah, no clue if it's something on my PC or if Stardock maybe fixed something in the Steam version.
