Multi-monitor

Monitor ID

Maybe it's just me, but the monitor numbers in DS differs from those in Display Settings. It would be really useful if DS had a similar monitor ID.

P.S. I looked for posts about this in the forums, but it's entirely possible that I just missed it.

I have the same issue. Never really noticed because I usually run the same one on all 3.

I run 4 monitors (one is my 58" plasma). I often change the configuration and occasionally run virtual desktops.

This is a screenshot. Currently the middle one is cloned in another room.Screen shot.

I have a three-monitor configuration. Currently, DeskScapes can apply a background to monitor 1, 2, 3, or All monitors.

It would be great to have more monitor combination options. For example, allow to apply a background to Monitor 1 and 2, or Monitor 2 and 3, etc. Optionally, develop an interface that you can drag and drop backgrounds on to monitor configurations.

I welcome your feedback.

Regards,

Jerry

I have the same issue using 3 or 4 monitors for my work.
I am always guessing the monitor ID. Please make it follow Windows monitor ID or have an identify function. It should not be that hard to make.

Hi everyone,

Regarding the Monitor ID, I've now logged the request internally.

Internal Ref: ODNT-8828

Thanks much for the feedback.

Jerry,

Regarding your post, is it not already possible at least to apply a background to a specific monitor?  Once you select an installed background you should see something like what I've pictured below.  Note the options to apply to all monitors, or to dropdown select a specific monitor to apply the background to.

Hope that helps.

Thanks again all and best regards,

To clarify something a bit further for the log, can anyone reporting an issue here please clarify exactly what is meant by "the monitor numbers in DS differ."?

For example, are "monitor 1" and "monitor 2" in DeskScapes 11 appearing incorrectly when compared with the "1" and "2" your Advanced display settings?

If so, please provide a screencap image of both:

  • Your Windows Advanced display settings showing those numbers,
  • Your DeskScapes 11 window where it shows "monitor 1" and "monitor 2" as not matching the advanced display screenshot

Thanks,

Hi,

Look at the image, the only monitor that I always know about is running in a special resolution 1920x720

Stardock Deskscape monitor 1 is Windows monitor 3

The rest of the monitors is a guessing game.
