Orientation

Hello,

Pretty new to the product. Reading the forum, but I think it's easier if I just ask for help.

1. Is there a way to make the WindowBlinds main app dark instead of light? i.e. does WindowBlinds have a dark mode. I downloaded several examples, but none of them skin WindowBlinds itself so I want to know how best to make the WindowBlinds windows dark.

2. When custom skinning other applications (like with your SkinStudio app - btw, does it have a dark mode?), is there a mode where I can click on my custom app and get a code back that I can use to modify the colors?  I'm more of a visual coder. I like to use apps that are straightforward without reading much. So I sort of wish to just tell SkinStudio to build me a custom skin, let me click on or target the areas of the app I want to change, and have it return back their current colors, let me change them, and then build the skin one step at a time like that. Make sense?  Possible? I know a lot of scripting languages allow this type of behavior. For example: Pulover's Macro Creator and AutoIt. They provide tools to identify any window on the screen and perform actions. I'd like the same concept for WindowBlinds.

3) I was able to skin SierraChart (most but not all windows), but unable to skin Tastyworks. Does anybody have any thoughts on those products? They are both brokerage platforms.

Thank you!

Welcome to our community. As for windowblinds, Most WB authors do have dark substyles built into it. Just use the pull down option on skin in styles windows. Also WB allow to do some recoloring. Some will, some wont. Here is a few pics to show.

He means the WB and SKS gui.

As of now no there is no dark skin mode for those apps. StarDock just updated their Start 10 app with dark mode so who knows what they will do with WB and SKS.

Hello,
I never use those software you mentioned, but, if I have to guess, it would be, because it is using non-standard or their own skin/theme engine.

Thanks Guys. That helps.

Any thoughts on why Stardock doesn't use their own system for skinning their apps?

I have a nice dark skin for almost everything and then I open any of the stardock apps and am blinded by the light.

Tastyworks is a java based application like thinkorswim (td ameritrade). It does some odd things like opening a first app that then does an update process and opens another app to trade. It steals the keyboard focus and is aggravating. Most of all, I cannot change font sizes and I am color blind so I really need to get their red on grey replaced with something else.  Well, it's a nice brokerage otherwise and probably great for you guys that have perfect vision, so if anybody finds it interesting to help me out, I would be grateful.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Jason
