I installed Zorin-OS on one of my external hard drives and Ilike it quite a lot. I still need some more learning but I think it is a good OS.

I wish that was WB.

"I wish that was WB."

It is very usable and you are able to change themes (only a few with my version), I even like the light colored themes.

Looks very interesting. I've got my old PC laying around doing nothing. I need to get everything off of it and then I may install Zorin on it.

What problems have you encountered so far Ken?

Did you go with the free version or the paid?

Inquiring minds want to know!

Chuck, if memory serves, it looks like Ken went with the free version.

I seem to remember the free only had a few themes. There were other restrictions too, I think.  It's been a while since I ran Zorin.  Nice OS.  Linux based, I believe.

The paid version isn't that expensive. $13.00 and less on eBay.  $39.00 from Zorin.

Jim is correct, I went with the free version, I wanted to try it first before I bought it. Besides a lack of themes, I am not sure what other restrictions there are. I like the fact that I am able to install windows software (not all may install). The only problem that I have experienced so far is that I could not get my 3rd party sound card driver to install which is not the end of the world because the original sound card works. I might still be able to install the driver by using the terminal but I have not got that far yet, I am using Windows 10 as my default OS and only boot up Zorin if I want to try to learn something.
Zorin (perhaps the paid version more so than the free) comes with a lot of programs already installed or programs that you can install, I just installed foobar2000 for example.
The biggest learning curve is knowing how to use the terminal with its command lines but Zorin is usable without having to use the terminal. My intentions are to have Zorin as a backup OS for now and if I use it enough and get more familiar with it I might make it my main OS, I would love to get away from MS but the downside of that is loosing skinning abilities.

I know that was directed towards me. I like the flat dark type skins, like Naked Noir, Dark Flat, Basj's Simplic skins and Adni's skins. Not saying there is anything wrong with yours. They are beautiful. I think after all these years I've moved on from the more elaborate type 3D skins and went to the more simple ones. As of now I'm using the Win 10 dark mode with the transparent taskbar and title bar and start menu it also has the dark explorer window.

I really like what I'm seeing at the Zorin-OS website. The information video was well done as well as some additional information videos I pulled up on YouTube. On payday I'm going to purchase and install the full version. It looks like what I've been looking for in a new OS. It also looks fantastic with the Opera browser. I also don't use Windowblinds, so no issues there to concern me. I do use iconpackager , so we'll have to see how that works out. Thank-you to JuniorCrooks for the valuable information, otherwise I would never have known it even existed.

Actually It was Not ;) -I was thinking someone into this might be able to create something similar without being a Graphic designer... Heck maybe I'll do something Minimalistic just to shock the community o_O  ;P  :sun:  :star:

Go for it Andy, nothing wrong with switching it up a bit from time to time.

I purchased the ultimate version. It takes a litle getting use too because things are in different places and sometimes named differently than the way Windows does things, I was able to get my sound card to work, it was just something simple.

It's not bad, just different. I am 53 and the older I get the more difficult it becomes to learn new computer skils. I tend to want to stay with what I know but a little frustration takes the bordom away.

Looks fantastic Junior. I'll be getting mine next week on Wednesday. Great screenshots. Looking forward to the new experience.

Quoting Chasbo,

Here's another Supercar shot with one of my favorite WB's, Sintrone by 2of3.

This is nice, Sintrone is one of my favorite skins too, it is so well done and it is one of the few skins that I do not experience font color conflicts, ie dark font on dark background.

Thanks for still using my skin Chasbo and JC. My eyesight isn't what it used to be, but have you removed the pinstripes from the skin? Edit: I see them now after maximizing the image LOL

Sidenote: the skin was supposed to be called "Sitron" (because of the lime green accents) but due to my dyslexia, an extra "n" got in the skin name when I named it in SkinStudio. I just decided to keep the name with the misspelling ;P  :P  XD
