Open source skins?

Open source skins?

Are there any open source skins/themes that I can modify and redistribute? Thanks.

Quoting ALMonty,

Djeypegs no one is asking you to be here. You can always go to DeviantArt install the Uxtheme patcher and use those skins. There are thousands of them that all look the same. This is a different kind of website everything here is monitored, unlike DeviantArt where nothing is monitored. Half the walls there I have seen on other sites. Skins from other authors are changed slightly and they call them their own without asking permission or even mentioning the original author.

You could always install SkinStudio and create your own skin. The skinners here know SkinStudio inside and out and it still takes them weeks to create a skin. So do they deserve a little cash in there pocket for there time? Why not? Just because people complain about doesn't mean it's going to change. Deal with it or go somewhere else.

You see, I don't really care about making my own skins, using that free patcher, or whatnot. What I care about is that someone has been shat on for daring to ask for skins with a CC license, which in these times, is completely and utterly reasonable for someone to assume there would be such a thing, and the crappy reasoning people here used to justify berating OP like they did. It says a LOT about the people hanging around here. What I've seen in this thread disgusted me and I wanted to speak up.

You're right, no one asked me to be here. Thank god, because I won't be staying.

I guess you missed the apology replies and if you did read them then why the sour grapes? There were misunderstandings in this thread that have been pointed out and clarified, it seems to me that you care nothing about that and just want to keep stoking the fire, well that is up to you.
There are plenty of things that I am not that happy with but I also know when to let sleeping dogs lie.

I don't want to get everyone more emotional than they already are, but I would just like to point out that these are the Stardock forums, not WinCustomize, so presumably "we skinners" (quoting neone) should include everyone who purchased these tools, not just people who sell stuff on WinCustomize.

This was an initial source of confusion for me.

these are the Stardock forums, not WinCustomize,

Wincustomize.com is a Stardock Forum.  Stardock has many sites whose Forums are all inter-connected [where relevant].

The Skinning 'arm' of Stardock IS Wincustomize.com, however many skin-related Forum sections are also accessible via Stardock.com as well...;)

Just to make myself clear that comment had nothing to do with the forums. I was referring to the submission of skins.

Well, I guess ultimately it's up to Stardock.
