Reaching Critical Mass?

Suggestions wanted!

Hello Alpha Centauri?

As the dev team continues to make steady progress on the game, I wanted to start a thread to collect some feedback. Here's what I'm hoping to get from our awesome community:

What are the top 3 suggestions you can give us to help improve the game? These will be the top three items you know will have a positive impact on the game moving forward. The suggestions can be related to an already implemented feature, something brand new, or even something you feel needs to be removed.

I look forward to reading your thoughts. *_*

1.  Better visual feedback on firing arcs past terrain

2. More varied heights in maps, IE peaks to place towers on, overpasses or bridges for enemies, valley routes for enemies

3. More neutral buildings that have strategic purposes like special unique defense structures like napalm cannons or drone plants that manufacture movable defense drones; ion fountains that disrupt nearby shielding; buildings to decrease the cool-down time of orbital abilities, decrease the cost of towers (whether certain or all); tower buff structures that affect the stats of nearby towers or structures that apply debuffs to the stats of enemy units like firepower

I would put Ion Cannon buff on the list but I understand that's already being done.  :D

Here's two minor must fixes that have occurred to me.

1. Create a tower guide online/a non-spoiler wiki for the game.  I looked previously and couldn't even find the names of the towers and didn't have the opportunity to boot my game up.  It seems like, beyond the easier reference, it would be good marketing for Siege of Centauri.  A full forum on the website may also be good where people can share strategies, stories of epic matches, or write fiction based on the game.  I've seen some very robust forum communities before, and in my opinion, Stardock is missing out here.

2. Place a limit on the screen shake effect when multiple Minos Cannons are firing.  Get about four or five of those firing at enemies and the screen is vibrating non-stop.  It makes it very difficult to do accurate tower placement.

Then this is kind of an addendum to the less-immediate and harder-to-pull off suggestions that are my old top-priority list.  Tiered steps on the terrain overlooking paths.  The lowest step would be toward the path and the next highest step would be behind that.  This would allow more towers to have a line-of-sight on the path further back.

1) LOS/firing arc improvement for most towers.

2) AOE indicators for those towers that have an AOE or splash damage.

3) One or more weapons that dual purpose air/ground targets.

@FoxURA: I like the idea of a tower guide. I'll see if we can get to work on that. The screen shake is something I'll bring up.

@Darvroth: I know we are still working on some of the AI and there has been some discussion of indicators. Part of the issue is calculation for when there are things blocking the path. On the subject of dual purpose you'll see some changes in the next update for that.

I think I remember you mentioning that the Ion Cannon will be getting some buffing in the next update and now you saying there are more towers/tower changes in the works has left me wondering.  When will the next update be?

Sooner than you think.
