WindowBlinds 10.82 Released

Minor Bug Fixes

We have released WindowBlinds 10.82 to address the following issues with Windows 10:

  • For some skins, the time was not painting correctly or not showing at all
  • For some media apps (Windows Media Player for example), the controls were being clipped on taskbar hover preview.

While the app should soon prompt to update, you can manually get the update from the following links:

Clients with an account:
https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Guest checkout clients:
https://www.stardock.com/support/productkeyretrieval

Thanks to all that helped find the issues and report them.

Good deal

Wish they could have fixed the dialogs in Chrome. If you launch anything that creates a Windows Dialog, or anything from within Chrome itself, even apps are not skinned and just have the look of standard windows created with colors set within SKS only :-(

Tom, I'm using Edge. It's fully skinned as far as I can see and is fast. This is a new machine and I haven't installed Chrome nor do I plan to. My wife likes Slimjet which I did install and is based on Chrome I think. She uses that. Slimjet isn't skinned and wifey doesn't care about that.

The update to 10.82 went fine.

Must be me but I use Edge all the time. It's fast and works well. Maybe more should try and use it on a full time basis say for 2 weeks to a month. May be surprised.

I used IE then went to Edge. The only problem with Edge is if you want to send a link to the desktop it makes you open IE to the same page then you can save the link. Edge doesn't do this internally.

I don't use Windows 10 as a primary OS (yet :-( ), and IE sucks. I will never ditch Chrome, ever.

Hello,

Well it look okay on mine.

Would like to test if its theme related. Please load Default Stardock theme such as Corporate and test it.

Thank you,

Works fine on my PC with both Windows Media Player and Media Player Classic & I guess on most others PC's as well, since there are no forum posts about it. I even downloaded and tested with the player of your choice, MPC BE.

You are running an insider version (rs.prerelease) of Windows, and virtually any bugs may appear in any pre-release versions.

Happens regardless of theme. Works if I switch to Light color theme in Windows Settings but, that's screwed up and looks terrible.

That's probably it. Oh well, keyboard Media Keys work globally so I'm gonna drop it.

MPC BE has its own skin kicked in when running which why WB did not skin as rules should. This happened to all software that has its own skin engine..............

I can see that is my Andella skin right Ross?  Has some modifying been done? Some things look different, like title bar text position, and the up arrow I made for the skin looks different? Were some modifications done that maybe have caused this issue?

Tested on my system Andella and the button back and forward show up as expected. Maybe just need to restart Explorer or reboot.

Everything seems to be working just fine now Tom. Probably after the reboot and I hadn't noticed. Alls good with world again. lol

You know I guess I'm just stupid. I JUST got an update how do I know if it really updated? If it didn't really update why is it downloading an update and installing it?

I'll be darned if I can figure this program's updating process anyway. If I manually check for updates, it never has found one even when I know there are because my other PCs get them from a notification. It's just driving me bonkers and I'm about to just uninstall it all and give up.

I've already updated to v10.82 -- but I keep getting the pop-up window to update it again.

Is this a newer version, or am I doing something wrong??

In your \Downloads directory, if there is a 'Stardock' folder there, delete it - that should stop it.

I've personally recently switched to Vivaldi browser. It's chrome based, but so far, in my opinion, it greatly out-performs Chrome. I.e. loads quicker and doesn't start to lag after a time no matter how many extensions you have installed.
