Creating Loop Videos for Dreamscape

How do you correct for loops

Hello out there in Wincustoland!

Hope everyone is having a great day. I was wondering for those of you who used videos to make loops for Dreamscape, how to you get the ends to match up?

For me I split the video in half, move the last half to the front and use a transition (adorage) to fuse the two together.

I figured since the split part should just auto match up there shouldn't be a problem because the new end of the video was originally cut from the new beginning... but I seem to always have a studder! So frustrating

I take off frames and still studder. Add frames and still studder. what am I doing wrong?

I save it as a windows media file in the hopes it plays well with windows

 

My computer is 10 years old so that may be a factor. I'm using Corel VideoStudio x10. I do notice on my faster (but 8 year old Dell XPS 12) laptop the studder isn't as visible (but still there).  I save it as a windows media file... is that the issue? Something else?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

OK , a few tips for you - please read all ///

1 Have a full set of codecs https://www.codecguide.com/download_k-lite_codec_pack_mega.htm

   for all your PC's - the older one probably needs a video card update ck if there is one - but may be 

   hard for the older PC to keep up with all the newer programs - not knowing it's full make up .

    Might need to update some parts if so would be cheaper to get a cheaper newer PC.

2 - ( Short version Looping Videos ) Split the video at about the 1/3 mark and then move to the end

      blending it back into the 2nd part for appx. 1 to 3 seconds depending on what the animation is

      at that point .( practice different amounts of time ) ... That should make you a pretty good loop 

      some videos are just harder to loop than others depending on the type of animations.( practice )

      A GOOD video editor recommended at this point ( see links below which would be updated to

      newer versions since thread was made . )

3 - WMV is not better for dreams AVI is the best format for dreams . WMV uses 2 to 3 times the CPU

      usage than AVI.

      When making your dream video save in any format then using a converter convert to AVI to

       make your .dream file.

Perfect tips mentioned by Az above. You can try one more trick if i,e splitting your video into 2 equal parts as layers and then re arrange them in the following order where you will have to drag the second layer to the beginning and the first to the end so your beginning and end is exactly the same, placing a fade in between.

The trick in this method to get a perfect loop is trying different durations of your fade according to your video.

I thought I posted this but it looks like I didn't but thank you for the reply. It was very helpful to he point that I use it as a reference when I'm making my dreams.

My only issue now is saving in AVI format. Every time I try to save in AVI, it turns my HD video into a 720x480 size. I wanted to do 4K videos too and it does the same thing with that also. Might be that I'm using Video Studio by Corel and I need a better version or a different program to get what I want done.

Again, thank you for the help! Much appreciated. sorry for the late response. I hope to have some Dreams up next week lol

Try this converter to convert https://www.videoproc.com/

for needed formats i.e.AVI , practice getting the right settings down.

and remember when using a converter convert same size to same size .

Don't try to convert 720 or 1080 res. to 2160 UHD res.

convert 4K res to 4K.

Check your setting in your video editing program to see what resolutions are available.

You might need a better video editor .
