Freeze on start

Star Control doesn't seem to load part the opening scene for me...
 
It loads the opening cutscene and everything, lets me type in my name and such. But then it freezes at the screen that says, "The last of your crew and supplies should be arriving shortly."
 
The music still plays, but I tried waiting like 10 minutes and nothing happens.

Sorry for the delay, the Stardock headquarters is on holiday until the 8th.

I recommend looking over the Support FAQ.

If nothing there helps with your problem, then please specify your system's specifications.

Also the runlog.txt file might have relevant information, it is located in \Documents\My Games\Star Control. If you could upload it to a cloud service (DropBox, Google Drive, One Drive) and post a link here that would help.

I tried everything in the support FAQ just now, no luck.

My specs are as follows:

16GB RAM

i7 7700HD

Intel HD 620

Windows 10 64 bit

What do you mean? I didn't get prompted. It just freezes and I have to ctrl+alt+del it. I don't think it generates a crash report.
