Installation failed for Start10 V1.71

Good morning,
The Object Desktop Manager indicated that Start10 V1.71 was available for upgrade, I clicked the "Install" button and the installation started, but failed with the following message:

"Select Install Folder > On Next, Line 914, Argument 5 must be of type table.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Please refer to below, same problem as mentioned above.

From : https://forums.stardock.com/495061/get;3752508

Solution:

The "Controlled Access Folder" in Windows 10 Pro was blocking any changes to any protected folder, and that included any Stardock folders.

When I turned it off, I was allowed to update Start10, and any other Stardock program (I made sure to turn it back on for security reasons.)

Try it and let us know.

Thanks

On Windows 11, I can't update. I get message "Stardock Start 10. Your PC requires the latest version of this app"

But when I try to install it, I get code 5. I can't read the above screens either.

Start10 is not installed yet, although I think I tried. Start11 is installed.

If you are on Windows 11 then Start10 should not be installed.  Start11 replaces it and you seem to already have that installed?

I did the purge and rebooted 3 times, and still get the same message. I did NOT reinstall Start 10. I regret installing Object Desktop on  my machines. I wasted a whole day on this so far!

Failed yet again. How do I uninstall start10 manually

Object Desktop is all broken. I installed Start10 1.8.7.0, and OD says I need an update. It installs it, says I need a reboot to restart it, and after the reboot, says I still need an update.

Furthermore, there is no update to Fences 4.1 in OD. I can no longer drag desktop icons into a Fence.
