Black Screen

The game launches, pick the genre, character and name the game, then when we hit the Play button and go to the game screen, the transition never completes and its just a black screen. We wait on that screen for a while and nothing happens. We have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and rebooting the PC.

This is on my sons computer which is a very basic intro PC. Here are the specs but resource monitor shows very low usage. In addition to this we did just add EVGA 1GB GeForce 8400 GS DirectX 10 64-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Did you install the Geforce drivers from Nvidia's site?

The video card doesn't look to support DirectX 11. That might be the problem but I'll try and confirm that's the case and get back to you.

I verified drivers are updated. Let me know about the DirectX 11. Thanks!

So, as of right now, DirectX 11 is indeed a requirement for the game. However, there may be options on our end to support other versions, so let me investigate tonight and get back with you.

I'm always looking for ways to bring down the minimum specifications :) Fingers crossed.

Update: So I made version of the game where I forced it to use OpenGL which I think your gfx card would support.

Which...is better than a black screen, I suppose :)  Gonna chat with the other devs tomorrow and see if we can get an OpenGL version hooked up properly.

Thats awesome, I appreciate you efforts. I bought the game for him with the expectation his PC may not be able to run it, but again the support is appreciated!

Update #2: We're asking around to get a laptop with similar settings (or, at least, one that doesn't support DX11). We think we'll have at least one tomorrow to test against. We'll keep you posted!
