May update 1903

May update 1903

The task bar buttons no longer style.

I just updated to the May Windows 10 update (1903) and the buttons of the task bar no longer style. Will try reinstalling WB and all the hassles that go with that for me. Let you know.

I installed 1903 last night and the new WB.  So far no Stardock rendering issues but my whole PC is very sluggish.  I thought the first clean reboot after the installl was slow because it was still doing some background work.  Nope!  Instead of a boot time of a minute or so it now takes 25 minutes to reach the desktop.  Once there all functions appear significantly slower.  My guess is some driver needs to be reinstalled but I have no idea which.

Here's another example.  After posting my comment I minimized the Chrome browser.  Seevral minutes later and my desktop has yet to appear.  No explorer, Start Menu, etc., but my hard drive light  is flashing, sometimes pegged, indication Windows is up to something.

Gevansmd,

When I upgraded to 1903 I had the same issue (though not as dramatic).  I decided to nuke my hard drive and start from scratch.  1903 non-upgraded runs much, much better than an upgrade of 1903 in my opinion.

My computer runs flawlessly - maybe faster even, so it might be some of you have ran into some driver issues/conflicts. I can't imagine that this has something to do with Windowblinds, so maybe try re-installing video card drivers and check your device manager for conflicts and continue from there if your problem is not solved.

Chrome isn't skinning at all for me. It was a week or 2 ago.

Have you told Windowblinds to allow it?  By default we block it now.  See advanced settings in WB to allow.

Thanks Neil. I didn't know about that setting.  Chrome is fine now.

I rebooted after my last post and discovered Windows was still installing stuff.  That's why everything was so slow.  At shutodown it said it was installing updates and maybe at restart as well, I've forgotten. It's faster now although still slower than before the upgrade.
