I bought this game from Stardock years ago. GameStop apparently wants nothing further to do with old games originally purchased from Stardock. At any rate, this game is installed on my computer under GameStop, however the game will not let me play without 'activating.' I have the code, however, get an error message upon submitting the code: "Writing of license file failed."

Please help -- I already paid good money once for this game!

GameStop is the owner of Impulse and that includes all of those game licenses. If you bought a Stardock publisher title (as opposed to merely distributed) such as Sins of a Solar Empire or Galactic Civilizations we can help you. But, I'm afraid we can not help with something like Morrowind since we don't own any licenses to that game etc. That's Bethesda/GameStop.

Thanks for your quick reply. Must say I'm disappointed. Seems to me that once one has sold something, one should either follow up with support INDFINITELY, or fix the software to no longer require 'activation.'

They bought the entire service, customers and all.

Your best bet is to contact them and Bethesda. Even better if you can dig up the receipt.
