Windows are minimizing by themselves when wallpaper slideshow changes

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that when my Windows 10 wallpaper changes, my application windows spontaneously minimize and then reappear. I have wallpapers set on slideshow mode. I rolled back my video driver thinking that was the problem, but that didn't fix it.

I found that disabling WindowFX fixed the problem. It didn't do this until a couple of weeks ago, so maybe some Windows update broke it.

Here's my system specs:

Nvidia GTX 1080, driver version 419.67

Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, version 1809

Intel Core i7-6850K @ 3.60 GHz (overclocked to 4.2 GHz)

32 GB RAM

Two monitors - Wacom Cintiq 27QHD touch at 2560 X 1440 and Dell U2415 at 1920 X 1200

WindowFX version 6.04

Thanks!

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

Do you have Fences installed?

If you create a new Windows Admin account, and log into it, do you still see the issue?

I did try the purge and reinstall, as well as creating a new admin account. One thing I noticed was that if I used Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome, the minimizing problem didn't happen. It may have had something to do with Chrome.

Anyhow, after the Windows FX purge, the problem doesn't seem to be happening now. I will keep an eye on it and see if it recurs.

By the way, I also have Fences installed.

Thanks for your help!

Sorry to bring up an old topic, but I am having the same issue but I don't have Stardock - I think this is a widespread Windows 10 issue. But is this something that can be solved if I use Stardock?

My wallpaper is set to change to a different picture every 1 minute. I noticed sometimes when playing video games, the game would minimize.
