I cant upgrade ships with unique components, precursor weapons etc

If i put any unique component into any ship, i cant upgrade these later even if i have an identical version of the same ship with just changed vanilla parts.

If i  upgrade them to vanilla ships, then the precursor equipment is lost, and i cant upgrade them back to a newer version of the same ship with the same unique components.

The only way to update a ship using these weapons is to decommission the existing ship, and re-build the ship with updated components.

Which totally removes all the level, experience and all the benefits gained from experience, making experience system useless.

Is there any way to go around this major feature-breaking problem?

I don't believe so.

This is tied to the same bug about upgrading constructors and survey ships, where you pay again the administrator. I think I read somewhere that Frogboy fixed it for the next DLC.

Even with Retribution, I still cant seem to be able to upgrade ships that contain precursor equipment.

What about constructors/etc and admin cost? Did that get fixed.

Is there any mention of development being aware of this issue?

That aside, is this forum even taken into account? I mean, its support forum but i dont see any support being rendered at all...

I agree even though it's a one of a kind equipment, it should be upgradeable to the same stuff, and if you already have an administrator then it makes sense you wouldn't need another administrator to upgrade it.

This is unrelated to the admin cost thing, but I have fixed it for the next update.  You will now be able to upgrade designs with a one per player component to a design with the same component.
