CursorFX Plus not applying

Hello,

I have my personal laptop that I use to remotely login to work. I installed the program on my remote machine, however the theme doesn't apply. Do I need to run the install from the server? Everything on my remote CPU is housed on the server in case the local machine crashes. I've purchased one for my personal which works great, I purchased another license so that I could install it on my work machine. If anyone could please help me I would be extremely grateful. Machine is Win10, 64bit. (BTW, my boss is my father, so there wont be any issues. I also have admin rights.) I'm a former T4 tech, so if you need to get technical, I will understand. Thank you in advance to anyone that is willing to help.

I contact WC support, they advised I ask on the forums. An admin told me to contact WC support. So I'm kinda going in circles.

Or, if I can somehow extract the cursors I want from a theme and install them manually, that would be great as well.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

I guess I am a little confused.... Some questions:

  • You have a 'home' laptop that you have CFX on and it works, is that correct.
  • You have a 'work' remote PC that you connect to (RDP I'll suppose) that also has CFX installed, on its own drive, but you are not seeing the cursor them applied while connected via RDP ('home' to 'work') - is that correct?

Yes, that is correct in both aspects.

If you can actually go (physically) to the remote PC (at any time, with a monitor plugged in), is the cursor rendering properly when you are at it?

That I cannot tell you. My work computer is in California and I am in Idaho. Its just a box, no peripherals. I put the exe on the server and have executed it from there, I gave full permission for the system and myself. I have unblocked the program from within the properties menu, and ran as admin. After restart, nothing. BUT, sometimes the cursors will show up momentarily, then revert back to Windows default. I can manually change my cursors within the OS, but just cant seem to get the set I downloaded to work. Is there a way to extract the files from the theme and do it manually? If so, I have no problem doing it that way. Thanks again for helping, I really do appreciate it.

'the server' is just the same remote PC we have been talking about yes?  If it is, just say remote PC as 'server' makes me think we are talking about a 3rd device in the mix.

It's just very difficult to predict how any software that renders anything (on the desktop, cursors in this case, etc) will react through RDP.  RDP has graphic settings to control such things but I am not certain exactly what to tell you to change to see if that is the case.

Sorry for not clarifying. By "Box" I meant my local machine at the office. Server aside, I also have window blinds, fences, object dock, and WinStart installed, and those are working fine. I'm wondering if I need to maybe modify the UI? It's been a while since I've dove deep in to a computer.

I have the same problem. It is still not resolved.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

After some testing, RDP will not render the CursorFX cursor on the remote.  It is unclear why at this time.

i am aslo facing same issue

With CursorFX version 4 or 2?

With CFX4 installed on both PC, local and RDP one, and with different cursors applied to each, we do see them:
