Black background folder tab issue

Hi I have following issue.
I can't use the folder tabs anymore because of the black background.
I did nothing change on the object dock settings it just went black after a reboot.
It could be that this issue relates to a graphic card driver update but I'm not sure.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. Is this Windows 8.1?. Have you tried changing the tabs Style to other theme? If that still don't work. You should try the purge and reinstall steps : https://forums.stardock.com/485816/objectdock-support-faq#reinstalling

Just follow the steps listed there and remember to reboot after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Thank you.

Hi Basj

Thanks for your fast reply.
I tried this purge script and re-installed the objectdock after rebooting my pc.
Nothing changed. Also if I changed the theme the background is still black.
I have a Windows 7 (64bit) system.
Thanks for your support.

Please try the following:

-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/929833/use-the-system-file-checker-tool-to-repair-missing-or-corrupted-system

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Some help on how this looks should you need it:

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.

Please let me know whether this resolves your problem or if you have any additional questions.

Thank you,

BTW could try to roll back the graphics driver just to see if it is the compatibility issues?

Hello,

This seems to be an issue with Microsoft Aero.

The easiest way to fix this would be to right click on an open area of the desktop and choose 'Personalize'. On the window that comes up, choose one of the Aero Themes.

One of the requirements to run Aero is to have your PC rated by Windows (Windows Experience Index). Follow the link below to get started:

https://www.digitalcitizen.life/windows-experience-index-how-use-it-interpret-results

If this does not correct the issue, please go through the steps at

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/976170  to run the Aero troubleshooter
