If the Lappy has a UEFI 'bios' [or even DDR4 ram] then installing 7 is going to be 'difficult' but not entirely impossible.
This machine [I'm typing on] suffered the same fate...but sufficient hoop-jumping-throughs....and it's been fine [though more often than not still needs 3 hard boots to actually succeed - booting].
