Cannot make Explorer windows go on top of application windows

I installed WindowFX 6.04 on Windows 10 version 1803.

Ever since I installed WindowFX, all Windows Explorer windows always stayed underneath any application windows (such as Edge, Firefox, Thunderbird) in the stacking order. That is, I could not make an Explorer window overlap an application window.

To get Explorer windows to go on top of application windows again, I was forced to uninstall WindowFX altogether (which is a shame because I paid for it).

Is there some setting I'm missing, or is this a genuine bug?

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues. I never had a report of similar issues as yours. Could you make a video grab of this issue so that we could understand it better.

Thanks

File Explorer also crashed once or twice.

But I started to run WindowFX and its service under Windows 8 compatibility mode.

And that seems to have eliminated all these glitches. Under Windows 8 compatibility mode, WindowFX has been rock-solid for the past 11 hours or so.

So I guess that fixed it.
