What controls icons, the strategic ones on the map when zoomed out?

I am having an issue determining what controls or determines what that icon is. I know the icons are based around whatever the game classifies the ship as, most likely by stats specific components?

I am asking because i have an issue (modded game) where certain huge hulls always icon as scouts which is kind of annoying. I figure this is because of the mods the values or ship components are not falling into expected ranges and i am getting a wrong icon?

Anyways if anyone knows if this is governed in xml or it is hardcoded etc.

Ship Icons are determined by either the Role and or loadout(which defines the role) of the ship.

I mean i guess more on a nuts and bolts of it. Basically i know the icon changes by whats on it like if you put a transport module on something it icons a transport, or colony ship or freighter survey etc.  I just am having an issue with my Huge hulls having a "scout" icon with certain loadouts nothing to do with scouting just standard. engines, sublight, defenses, and weapons. Just a lot of them along with a lot of custom weapons seems to turn certain combos of weapons into a scout icon. If i walk back some of the weapons the icon goes back to Fortress or Avatar etc correct icon.

My game is modded a ton so i know its something going on with that but im guessing these are hard coded to determine icon?
