Tiles Shortcuts Randomly Disappear

I submitted a support request and it basically came back, we don't support via email, check the FAQs. Not helpful. I renewed OD for this primarily for this app.
I can Shift-Drag open open windows to pages and all is fine. I can pin them (right-click and choose "Show all process from this window on this page" and every time you launch that app, it will show up on "that page". Nice.
BUT the problem I'm having is with dragging app icons (say from the Start Menu) to the "Shortcut" / "Link" area of each page in Tiles. They only show up sometimes. It is REALLY frustrating. Other times they disappear.
They must still be there, because re-adding them to the page shows something like this:
* First time: MyApp
* Second time: MyApp (1)
* Third time: MyApp (2)
etc.
...but they don't show up.
Product is pretty useless without this feature working correctly. I'm opening a separate thread in case that is not what you are talking about.
