DLC: The Lexite Perspective

I was doing some thinking on this:

At the end of the campaign the player flagship becomes extremely powerful.  With the right modifications you can trivialize any battle.  Without heavy nerfs, the endgame combat power of the flagship will make it difficult to create challenging encounters in new DLC.

So here is an idea:

At some point, future DLC begins a second story with a new captain -this time commanding a Lexite starship that is trying to return to Earth from a distant galaxy.  This allows the players to start over in a new sector of the galaxy with a second starship to upgrade.

Perhaps after wrapping up the main plot of the Lexites, the Humans and Lexite stories join together -allowing the player to choose which flagship to use as their main.

Sounds like a great idea, basically you are creating the breadcrumb trail that you followed earlier during the campaign.  Also there could be more hits towards the "why" the Lexites high tailed it outta the spur.

One thing I have to ask though - what was your loadout for the ship because in the last battles my flag ship was lucky to beat a juggernaut with a quater of its crew alive.

Don't use your flagship. Mu'kay and Pinthi all the way

Quoting Darkstar076,

What makes the flagship really OP are deflectors.  With enough deflectors you can mitigate any damage to your ship.  On top of that I was using the gatling laser with 2 recharge modules.  At mid range, I was destroying the juggernaut within seconds.

My flagship actually got so powerful so early, that about 30% into the game I completely stopped collecting resources.  When I need RU, I just port to a star system with hostile aliens and start genociding them for cash.
