Game freezing/slow when investigating bases/outposts such as lexite bases

apart from experiencing general performance issues I am experiencing a particular problem with investigating bases such as Lexite bases when you go to a cutscene, the game basically slows and it can take me sometimes upto about 10-15 mins to get through it and back out again, sometimes the game can even CTD.
I don't know if this is also related to the Nvidia problems I seen you are having as seen in other posts
