Singularity missiles do nothing?

I just got singularity missiles and the first thing I fought was the big baddie that keeps coming back to Zeta Lynx III to kill everyone. They did nothing. Are they supposed to suck? Because they really seem to suck. The enemy just sort of moseyed over those singularities like they weren't there.

The Persistent Missile is the best one I know of, and makes the mothership like easy mode against most ships.  All of the missiles do, really.  Either point defense, a phaser, or shield is a good secondary system to use with a missile to make the mothership easy to win with against most enemies.

The black hole is actually very powerful on a fast ship, but you want to place it in the path of the target and not on top of them like the Singularity Missile does.  So if you want to use black holes get the gun instead of the missile.

Singularity missiles are awesome.

They should be more dramatic when they hit a target, cuz it looks like they bounced off the hull harmlessly, but no...I've watched what happens to crew when they hit, and it can usually take down 1/3rd or more on a large ship.

And if you're obviously not going to hit, but the missile will go in front, detonate it just like you would a Black Hole.

I prefer the Blackhole Cannon over the singularity missile, if you enjoy the blackhole generation :)  The issue with missile is, it's not easier to use the cannon (you must hold down the left/right mouse button depending on which slot it's equipped in) and it seems to blow up before effect much more often.

Still all time favorite is the Gatling Laser and Phasor for PD.

It's very slight, but the missile actually has some homing function.
