Just finished the Story

Just completed the story, but I forgot to do the Lexite story line.  I figured saving the universe was more important than finding a bunch of eggheads.  Did I miss anything by skipping them?

A little bit. You get the Lexite Interceptor blue prints and a component for the mothership (if I remember correctly, those things just sort of appeared for me though. I did not know what came from where on long productive voyages.)
