Possible Memory Leak bug

Hey SCO Q&A and software engineers,

I think I might have spotted a memory leak in the game.  I'm going to try to replicate it a few more times to get some steps to reproduce.

 

Anyway - I was noticing on the task manager that ram was slowly being consumed, especially when idling on character animating during a hailing and roaming surfaces with a lander.  The game eventually crashed as the ram was entirely consumed after approximately 4 hours of gameplay.

 

I'll investigate further and see if I can replicate this consistently.

 

Also some other minor bugs I've seen we're some strange particle effect issues when acquiring resources with a lander.  Not sure if the physics just got wonky but the particles whizzed around the lander until they eventually timed out? Maybe a collision box issue?

 

Also maybe something with the engine or how it was designed but I can do things in the story and skip portions of objectives?

Let me explain...

In the beginning of the game I leave star control and was headed towards the moon to find that unknown signal.  Well I decided to double back to Star Control and I guess there's no game state in between finding what was on that moon and the humans? Because the human commander instantly said I I found aliens.  When in fact I havent even traveled yet.  I assume the game state machine is a giant web of interconnected events and maybe this one was overlooked, or is it handled differently?
