Heal Alien Ships

Is there a way to heal crew on the alien ships that you find? I’ve taken a couple into battle and they’ve taken damage but I’m not sure how to get there hit points back up

Do they refill crew when you go back to Star Control at Earth?

I've not been able to top up the Norast ship, since they don't have a homeworld to visit. But the crashed ships you find on planets that join your fleet are crewed with humans, so they get topped up when you return to Start Control.
