Intro video is scrambled, Is it suppose to be like that?

When i start up star control, I see a space station just fine, then it has correct sound describing things and sub titles, but the video is scrambled. is this what was intended?

How long do you watch it.... it starts off scrambled and then cuts to the visable...

Found the problem. 1.2Gb of the game would not validate. redownloaded to repair them and it is fine now.
