Game Crashes Non Stop at Start

Game Crashes Non Stop at Start

The game will not launch for me. All OTHER games I have, do. When launching a NEW GAME, it displays the yellow space ship screen for a couple seconds than bombs out to my desktop. This is the 5th time, and about 2 hours spent trying to get it to work.

What I've tried?

1. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game

2. Clearing download cache in Steam

3. Uninstalling/Reinstalling Steam

4. Rebooted, a lot.

I have updated video drivers, a GeForce GTX 1080 and a Core i7-7700k CPU.

I'd of hoped you folks at Stardock would have tested this game before launch, because it certainly doesn't seem like it to me.

Either T shirts in this context is some obscure technical reference or that was the non-sequitur of the year.

Just to follow-up that the game now works for me, thanks to the Sean and the team for their support.

I have the same problem, SCO hangs on loading screen, the only changes that have been made are updated graphic drivers to gtx 1080, and changed install directory from d:(hdd) to c:(ssd). my pagefile is set to auto.

Have you had a chance to review the support FAQ?

Yes, I have tried all except clean boot windows.

Please let us know how the clean boot works for you.

Also, if you have an NVidia GPU, and you are seeing 'swap-chain' errors in

\Documents\My Games\Star Control\RunLog.txt

We are still waiting for NVidia to release new drivers to address that.

my issue has been solved, I uninstalled SCO through steam. then I deleted the leftover remaining folder in steam directory, also the folder in MY Documents/My Games/Star Control Origins. I then reinstalled through steam and everything is working great. hope this helps
