Xbox Controller Not working in Menus

I've tried restarting the game a couple of times and unplugging and plugging in the controller but no matter what I do, the dialog and menu options using a controller keep disappearing, resulting in having to press up/down rapidly and then using the A button to select my choice. I've remapped the up/down/left/right in the options menu from the analog stick to the top hat directional buttons as well. This results in the same problem. 

 

Anybody else having this issue on DAY 1?

I have some controller issues as well.  I use XBox 360 wireless controllers with a USB wireless dongle.

I do not have that specific issue, however :(

Maybe we can try to make a list of all the places where controller support could be improved?
