Default Video Mode

(insert RAGE; will attempt to write this civilly)

wouldn't it make just a little bit of of sense to get the current display mode and start the game in that?  It's like 1 line of code.

Many games (unreal/unity based for sure) do this.  GetDestcktopRect() and open the widnow in that mode.

Why?  Because SOME of us have multiple monitors.  1 Monitor is 43" 3820x2160, so I have windows scattered all over it.  That is equivalent 4 21.5" 1920x1080.  So I have 4 monitors of windows all over.  I also have a second monitor that is 800x600.  (Yes that's very tiny) but it's just a projector.

When you arbitrarily chagne the vdieo mode to 1920x1080 everything is moved to a desktop region that is 1920x1080 (upper left corner of the monitor), and things  > 1920 are moved to the second montior and shrunken to 800x600.  This makes 50% of the widnows disappear off of visible space because I don't always have the projector on.  (Fortunately I know you can use ALT-SPACE M (arrow key) and then move the mouse to get the system move menu and get it attached to the cursor.... but it then takes me 5 minutes to fix the layout of all the windows... put chat back in strips on the right, mail on the lower right, .........

You have been making games for a LONG time, and I have gotten several of your titles, and I'm certain that EVERY F****** TITLE I have that you have prodcued I have made a note like this.

Please, just frickin add 2 lines of code and make my life easier!

Even Indie title I just get don't mess everything up so bad... the last game that did this was actually

I know... digging a bit, you'll just blame http://www.adventuregamestudio.co.uk/site/community/

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

I get what you are saying, and sorry that the lower rez on initial run is frustrating, but the game should remember what rez you surely changed it to after the very first run, yes?

Please let me know if it does not.

We do thank you for your patronage.

After installing the game, I could not get it to run in 3840x2160 - there was no option presented in the video settings of the game. The best that I could do was to select 1920x1080 and the game then ended up windowed (even with full screen setting), covering only 1/4 of my screen no matter what I tried. This was kinda weird as I had previously had no issues with the Founders' drops.

I ended up opening up the settings file and modified gameWindowWidth and gameWindowHeight to 3840, 2160. Now fullscreen on my 4k display works.

Now I can start the game and then finally find out what happens outside the solar system. :)
