Congrats on getting this out the door JC!

Thanks, Zubaz! Adding support for multiple Shelves, vertical Shelves and the new Drawers was a staggering amount of work - had to change literally thousands and thousands of lines of code. But it's finally done! Yay! :)

Got it.

Thank you.

This version fixes the frozen system tray and running apps docks (the launch dock has never frozen) but still displays an extra empty icon in the running dock tray.  Clicking dock properties and then Ok makes the empty icon go away.

Ah well... can't win them all, I guess. ;)

Thanks for the feedback.

Jc it looks like OD won't be updated and RocketDock ended, so it looks like Nexus Dock will be the only alternative. I wish you good luck. :pizza:

Jorge does it again! I love Winstep, I dunno what I'd do without it.  Thanks Jorge, you da man!!

Is it Xmas!?    :pizza:

FYI for Jorge! Clicking the "Restore Wallpaper" on the upper/shelf dock does nothing.  :-"

Oh...and love when you come out with updates...my downloads go up! Closing in on 1 million downloads!

Thanks, AL, but I don't see that as a good thing in any way, shape or form. Quite the opposite, in fact. :(

Never had problems competing (still here after all these years, am I not? ;) ) and competition, when it's civil and fair, is VERY healthy and benefits us all. Especially friendly competition like the one that has always existed between Stardock and Winstep.

But this... it's just sad - and scary. RocketDock gone, OD in limbo, nearly all other skin sites gone...

Err... works here.

You do know that it is meant to restore a previous wallpaper that is not part of a Winstep theme, right? That's the original intention of that IC (Internal Command): allow users to quickly go back to the wallpaper they had before running Xtreme for the first time (because Xtreme themes change wallpapers by default).

When I reinstalled Winstep and it applied an initial theme...changing the background in the process...it displayed my previous background in the "restore wallpaper" thingy on the shelf...and when I clicked it it did nothing...go figure. :S

And Thanky Sir Jorge!

Time to start working on the mythical Winstep Theme Builder... right after I finish updating the website lol.

Remember how Nexus used to be mythical once too? And the idea of multiple Shelves? :)

Couple things. One: When I updated the weather by clicking on detect location it put me in Pocopson. I think that's in Jersey. I'm in Pa in West Chester. I went to the city list and the closest to me is Willow Grove Air Station. If you look at the screenie the weather gadget has the text going off to the side. Two: How do I get the shelf and taskbar to stay not on top. Takes up a lot of real estate on the bottom.

The weather module uses a GeoIP location service to get your location based on your IP address, which is then compared to an internal list of know cities/locations.

If a direct match is found, fine, we now have a proper Weather.com code. if not the weather module then relies on the MSN weather feed to try and find a Weather.com code, based on latitude and longitude coordinates returned by the GeoIP service for your IP address.

If still no match is found, then the weather module will default to the capital of the country you're in.

What can sometimes happen (but is rare, I think) is the IP attributed to you by your ISP resolving to another location (for instance, your ISP headquarters).

Anyway, because the Winstep application caches the GeoIP result, you can know what it was: open the Windows Registry Editor and go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinSTEP2000\Shared\IPCache

See what is inside that key and paste it here so I can have a look too, please (or send it over to the Winstep support address if you are not comfortable sharing the information here). :)

Just for completeness, another way to know is to add the 'Lookup IP address' internal command to a dock or Shelf and then click on it. The information will appear inside a balloon tooltip.

Guess I forgot to limit the length of the location field for the weather module in the DarkTech theme. Thanks for letting me know.

In the mean time, simply right click on the Weather module, select 'Weather Monitor Settings' and then edit the 'City' field to whatever you want so the text no longer goes off the side (no worries, what really matters are the METAR and Weather.com codes)

Exactly what do you want to do with it? Dock it at the top? Undock it? Prevent it from reserving screen space? Set it so it doesn't show the tabs (but then you're making life harder for yourself)?

Anyway, if you right click the left mini-tab, you will get a context menu with a TON of options for that Shelf. You can get to the Shelf Properties dialog for that Shelf from there too.

What I want it to do is stay under the web page I have open like OD does. So I don't see it until I close my browser.

Reg. entry lists West Chester Pa with the coordinates so that much is correct. Oh, the IP Adress when I clicked on it shows the same coordinates.

Ok, fixed the theme for the next release, thanks.

Actually I will have to update that theme here in WC too, since I modified it further here so the CPU desktop module shows the two processes using the most CPU and the RAM desktop module shows the two processes using the most RAM. Always useful to know. :)

Right click on the left mini-tab (the little blue cog icon), select 'Shelf Properties' from the context menu that pops up. Go to the Position tab in the Shelf Properties panel, clear 'Prevent maximized windows from overlapping the shelf', press OK.

Done.

Have you put a check mark in "Prevent themes from changing your current wallpaper? In general settings tab. I have it set and the restore wallpaper button works for me.
