Star Control: Origins map

Don't worry, this isn't a spoiler.  The Star Control map is based on a 2D projection of the real universe going out around 130 light years.

You might enjoy this as it took some effort to try to create a reasonably accurate depiction of where we are compared to other stars.  One major change from real stars is that we took the liberty of naming some of the stars ourselves because a lot of the ones that have been discovered in recent years have alpha numerical names.

So for example, one group of stars is known as the Trombley constellation in honor of our friend and colleague Sarah Trombley who was the lead developer on Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation.

Enjoy!

With a name like "Strife" all the way on the opposite side of the map from Sol, you should probably make sure that there is something particularly interesting that the player finds/encounters in a place called "Strife".  Some players are certain to make reaching that place a priority just because of its name, you should make sure there is something there... anything interesting at all will do.

What was "Sol" before you renamed it?

It's listed as 130 light years, does that mean it's the whole map or a portion of the map? Not sure how many light years the map will be.

The map is 130x130.

So how big is Star Control.  Is it 130 light years?  Maybe you can give a number that it exceeds if it is bigger but you don't want to say it.  I'm really interested as I love the Star Control Universe.  Thank you for making it by the way.
