Can't activate Objectdock

Thinks firewall is preventing it.

I can't activate Objectdock despite using the download and serial number sent to me via email same day. I get the message suggesting the serial number is wrong (the one that came with the download), or the firewall is blocking it, despite being able to activate Windowblinds at the same time. I've tried to activate it twice manually by pasting the requested detail and serial number and sending the email as requested but don't know what I'm waiting for now. Instructions very poor.

I need help.

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Try this link https://forums.stardock.com/484254/getting-your-products-and-keys

Keep in mind if you are running Windows 10 , Object Dock is not supported

some say it works and others have some problems .

Thanks for this AzDude. I've undergone this several times in the past when changing machine and every time it worked with no issues. I've also installed Stardock products on my other Windows 7 machine, again no issues. This time however it won't activate on my laptop under Windows 7.

I'd include a screenshot but there's no provision for this here but it shows the email with all my products together with a 'download' option followed by the serial numbers, the activation screen for ObjectPlus fully completed and the error message which reads "Stardock's ACTIVATE.EXE could not communicate with the server .......... Would you like to activate via email?".

I have twice completling and sending the email request to activate by following the 'cut and past' message which follows this message and still nothing has happened.

The programs 'ACTIVATE.EXE' is included in the Windows Firewall's 'Allow programs to communicate through the Windows Firewall', and also I have temporarily disabled the router's firewall so there should be no other barrier for it.

Just a thought, the email address I originally used has been changed to the one I currently use, would that make a difference? The new one has been registered with Stardock for some time but might the serial number be equated to the old email address?

Must have been done before, I get this error :

Transfer Registrations

Oops, there was an error with merging your registrations. Please click here to try again.

Problem still exists. What happened to my activation via email?

Hello,

Not wise to post your emails in a public forum - use the PM ( Private Message ) method.

i did forward them to him before removing .

I'm unfamiliar with PM, how do I do this if requested next time?

Left- click on your name to the left and you'll get a drop down of things to click on

one is Private message to who's ever name you click on.

that allows you to send a private message to only that person and he in return

can send you a PM or response back .

any personal or private message should be done this way and not in the public forum.

When you click on forums you'll see a black bar with items you can click on

one is messages that will take you to your Private Messages.( if you are logged in to your account )

Check and report back if your problem is fixed now.

Problem still unresolved. Has anything changed since I last sent the email addresses? I still don't have an answer to the email activation I requested.

Hi Sean, At last!  This version of Stardock and the activation went as smoothly as it has done in the past when transferring to a new machine. Many thanks for your intervention, I will now close the Post.

I would suggest changing your username so it is not your email.
