Help my friend forgot her password.

First this is a linnux question ive seen this computer run, so i know its her computer. I know this is a bad idea, but she leaves her computer running at all times. So as to not leave her computer where a drink could get spilled on she put her computer on the bed. Forgot to plug it in, so it ran out of power, and needed to reenter her password. Talking about another bad idea she forgot to write down her password. Now because, ive done some maintenence in the past i know it is the debian operating system.

I googled a solution, and none came up i need to know how to fix this.

She needs to make a new administrative password to get on to her linux computer. It's the computer she can't use.

I use this on used computers that I purchase and the people failed to give me a password.

Boot to it, it will gave you all passwords on the unit.
