Newbie that is overwhelmed... can anyone help

Ive posted before... but Im still overwhelmed... I dont know what to use. what is the best and what to not do... On top of that I ran onto Litestep... Can you use desktopX or winblinds with Litestep? Is there a main webpage for litestep? does it work better than XP shell? Im looking for something that enhances and intergrates the GUI. Something a lot less boring and a lot more powerful. Any help? I appreciate you taking the time to point me in the right direction.

If you are indeed a "newbie" as you've stated above, I recommend that you stick with WindowsXP and stay away from shell replacements like litestep. WindowsXP is incredibly stable and the explorer shell that's included works fine for most. For desktop enhancement, go ahead and try a combination of Windowblinds and Desktop X. Start with Windowblinds so you can get the hang of it, then when comfortable, add Desktop X. Good luck - and have some fun.

I concur, Litestep is is a lot to take on if you are already feeling overwhelmed. It has a fairly steep learning curve but once you learn it, it can completely change the look of your desktop.
