Little things that could really make the game better...

So the end game of Gal Civ ends up being more tedious than it needs to be.     This is a list of very minor things that would make the game more manageable with less clicky redundancy.

1.

In GC2 there was a set rally point button.    In GCIII you can only set rally points from a ship yard for another known item like a ship yard... in a mini map that is really hard to use.   Please give us the option of setting a rally point in the middle of space and directing ships to it again.

2.  The Planet Govs cannot select the research or wealth projects.  Late game these projects only take one turn and are no longer continuous.  so I have to go back to my developed planets and click like twenty times to queue up the project and this is really annoying.  Make new projects that are continuous or give us an option to set a gov that will use them.

3.  The mission style ships are not able to be continuously built.   So the shipyards where I want to just continuously build the treasure hunters need a lot of clicking to add all of them.    All of the ships should be able to be continuously built... once you run out of resources and you can't built them then it should stop and bring it to your attention.

4.  Player built ships are not part of the upgrade string so you cannot hit the update to latest design after making a new design.

Issue 2 and 3 are the biggest micromanagement time sinks... I find myself clicking and clicking and clicking when I really aught to just be able to set the planet or ship yard to build one thing and leave it alone forever.

In my latest game just to get rid of some micro management I set up three commonwealths but on a downside I loose minerals, science, food and pop and suddenly it takes longer to research things so I am unsure about the worth of commonwealths.

So I would love the idea of governors to be better implemented and the op has some excellent suggestions to improve the micro.

huh... so there IS a rally point thing... just hidden on the other side of the screen on a bunch of buttons I seem to have never clicked before...  ignore point 1

Points 2, 3 and 4 still stand  ;)

Hey mind telling me where that button exactly is? I've been wanting it for so long since I have tons of precursor anomalies to survey.

Bottom left Window where the Mini Map is, it has button accross the top. Rally point is one of them.

I agree re. clicking missions and projects. Something I would ask the devs to consider is whether implementing a continuous project function causes the AI to get stuck in these que loops where they neglect building and improving their planets. This was a big problem at one point for the AI when Crusade was new. I remember seeing York worlds by ~ turn 200 having one or two planetary improvements on their home world, and and a repeating que of science projects.

Frogboy has already said they will look into adding an option for Aid Projects to repeat (on by default).

I for one am glad to see the repeating projects go.  Sometimes I'll need to requeue for a planet, but for me, it was more of a pain to cycle through planets which are on auto-project once I get a new tech.

Having a button for that would be optimal.

I don't know why they removed the original set and forget projects that would sit in que until you had an upgrade or new improvement to build.

I think this is a great idea, and which could be expanded upon. Without talking specifics, I am sure the devs have a number of AI routines they have tried in different branches. If they have the ability to verify compatibility to the current branch then Dupes could improve their AI as they level...

Continuas projects has added a lot of extra micro causing me to cycle through all my planets every turn when I research a new tech just so I can build my new improvement because it doesn't end automatically, or waste a lot of infrastracture I could of built. As an option that I would not use is OK. I am also relieved when they removed it. I can only hope that they are seriously making it an option.

The continuous projects  especially "station garrison" were very poorly implemented.

I don't want new continuous projects.   I want a button that I can set for "repeat this project"     or "repeat this project 10 times"  or something
